A Preview of Hokus Pokus Alexandria’s latest store pick: Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Bourbon – aged 11 years 2 months

This is apparently going to be for my Alexandria bourbon buddies, given the stay at home orders we are under. Hokus Pokus Alexandria is releasing a new store pick of Knob Creek Single Barrel Select, this one aged 11 years and 2 months. These will be available tomorrow, and I am told they will have a cool Samuel L. Jackson sticker on them. However, when they asked me to come back tomorrow to get two bottles, I was like

So, I am reviewing a stickerless bottle. But I will post the sticker later.

I was out of town and was unable to taste this barrel when it was picked. However, I am expecting it to have those wonderful cherry notes or those wonderful anise notes, given the palates of who did taste it.

On the nose are wonderful caramel and vanilla notes, dark fruits, herbal rye. On the swirl, nice film with thick legs. On the palate, the mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with rock solid bourbon notes complimented by cherries. Exactly what I look for in a great pick of Knob Creek Barrel Select! On this particular release, I do have to say the wonderful cherry notes are particularly balanced with the vanilla, caramel, and oak flavors. Sometimes these are overly cherried, but this one is not. I just have to give a bunch of style points because it just hits those notes just right.

I am headed to my porch with this bottle and a cigar. You should definitely pick one up before they are gone, so get one tomorrow or Friday. These will go fast. Hokus Pokus now has an app on iPhone and a website for curb side delivery, or you can call them for the same service.
